After His Debate Fiasco, Donald Takes Us On A Tour Of Trump Reality (VIDEO)

In their televised debate on Monday, one of the most telling blows the Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton landed on her Republican opponent Donald Trump was when she simply  said:

“Donald, I know you live in your own reality.”

Following the debate, it seems that Trump went even farther into that strange fantasy world which only he inhabits, when he told supporters at a rally in Florida:

“I didn’t want to do anything to embarrass her.”

Despite the chivalrous gesture, the general consensus is that this was a solid win all round for Clinton. Most analysts and pollsters, including the respected PredictWise website, recorded a substantial boost for her, of around 5 percent.

Yet Trump has claimed that it is he who has forged ahead in the polls. Quoting unverifiable social media data, of course.

But all the signs are that thin-skinned Trump was rattled and rankled by how the debate turned out. On Tuesday he tried to divert attention from the main event by blaming his microphone, suggesting that it was causing his frequent sniffing throughout the encounter, which caused several eyebrows to raise.

He even implied the mic may have been sabotaged:

“I wonder if it was set up that way on purpose. My microphone in the room, they couldn’t hear me, it was going on and off, which isn’t exactly great.”

This opened the way for Clinton to counter with yet another well aimed blow:

“Anyone who complains about the microphone is not having a good night.”

His mood had clearly not improved by Tuesday night, when he addressed the Florida rally. A correspondent from Britain’s Guardian newspaper reported:

“Three times … Trump called out “the corrupt corporate media” and gestured towards his supporters to turn towards the press pen to boo, hiss and even, in one instance, shout “go to hell”.”

Despite the poll indications, and the great weight of general opinion, Trump’s supporters have done their best to put a positive spin on it. This reaction on Fox News from campaign manager Kellyanne Conway is a prime example.
