WATCH: Harry Reid LOSES IT On Senate Floor, Says ‘Scammer-In-Chief’ Trump Is Secretly BROKE

Harry Reid tore Donald Trump a new one yesterday during a speech in the Senate. The Senate Minority leader called the GOP presidential nominee a “scammer-in-chief,” and charged that he is unfit to be President:

“He was born with an inheritance but lost his daddy’s wealth. That’s why Donald Trump won’t release his tax returns. That’s certainly one of the reasons, of course. He is not worth nearly as much as he claims to be.”

Trump has stated that he does not intend to release his tax returns prior to the election. This makes him the first candidate of a major party to refuse to do so since 1976. And as Reid said, the logical conclusion is that Trump isn’t worth as much as he claims he is. There is also widespread speculation that Trump’s tax returns would reveal other damning information like offshore accounts.

Trump’s Business Failures

Reid continued to destroy Trump’s claim to fame as a savvy businessman:

“We know of at least six of his companies that have gone into bankruptcy. Trump’s other business ventures … were all financial flops.”

Trump Steaks? Bankrupt. The Trump Plaza Casino and Hotel? Bankrupt. Trump Magazine? You guessed it — bankrupt! But it’s not just the fact that Trump’s businesses were failures that bothers Reid. It’s the fact that Trump pretends to be a skilled businessman, and therefore qualified for our nation’s highest office.

Furthermore, Trump’s businesses are involved in all kinds of crooked dealings:

“In lieu of real business success, Trump resorts to scams like Trump University.”

Trump University — described by one former employee as a “misleading, fraudulent, and dishonest” racket – is indeed just one of Trump’s many failures. While the lawsuit against Trump University has received a lot of press, Reid noted that over the past decade, Trump had been sued in federal courts 72 times. Altogether, Trump has actually been sued about 1,450 times.

Selfish Philanthropy

But for Reid, the most infuriating thing was not that Trump cheated people with his businesses. It’s that he also cheated people with his nonprofit, the supposedly philanthropic Trump Foundation. Trump himself hasn’t donated a dime to the charity since 2008 and apparently uses it as his personal piggy bank. He spent $12,000 of the foundation’s money to bid on NFL star Tim Tebow’s helmet. Reid reminded his Senate colleagues that this behavior violates IRS rules:

“It’s against the law. It’s illegal. But Trump doesn’t care about what the law is.”

It gets worse. Back in 2009, Trump’s charity received a donation of $150,000 from the Charles Evan Foundation. The Trump Foundation then presented the money to the Palm Beach Police Foundation in Florida.

Naturally, Trump didn’t disclose the original source of the money.

The PBPF wanted to honor Trump for his “selfless” donation. They chose to host an event at Trump’s own Mar-A-Lago Club. By the time it was all over, Reid says, the PBPF had dropped $200,000 at the club. Other estimates put the total closer to $275,000. Either way, Trump bilked the Florida cops for all he could.

But Reid didn’t stop at Trump. He then launched into Trump’s supporters:

“How can Senator McConnell and Speaker Ryan continue to endorse this man? How can Republicans continue to close their eyes to the fact that this swindler is running for President and he is ripping off the American people and our government?”

When it comes to Trump, Reid is a one-man wrecking crew. Check him out on the warpath:
