Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine(D-Va) is a pretty mellow guy. A lot of people have suggested that he was chosen because of his genial good nature.
There is more to the affable former Governor, however. The Huffington Post reports that Kaine is emerging as a defender of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Naturally, he supports her positions and policies.
Now he is also defending her life in his own quiet way.
Governor Kaine told Fox News’ Chris Wallace that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is goading his followers into attacking Hillary Clinton. He was very direct in his comments on Sunday. He told the host that he was shocked by Trump’s comments last week, and that Trump was obviously inciting violence against his rival. He said:
“I do believe that, Chris. I was stunned when I saw it, though he has done that before.”
Kaine was referring to Trump’s latest hateful attack on Secretary Clinton, when he suggested that since she is “against guns,” she should allow her Secret Service protectors to be disarmed. He wondered aloud what would happen if Clinton’s protecters were no longer armed.
Trump has been urging his supporters to be violent for months.
Remember those rallies where he suggested that his voters attack protesters?As he so delicately put it, he told people that if they saw protesters they should “knock the crap out of them.”
He later suggested that if Hillary Clinton is elected, conservatives will have no way to influence her choice of Supreme Court judges. Then he slyly suggested:
“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people — maybe there is, I don’t know.”
Trump’s followers may be ignorant, but they aren’t stupid. They knew what he was telling them to do.
We all knew what he was telling them to do.
Now Trump has been even more direct, just in case a few of his thicker skulled gun loving backers missed the message.
This time he told them that Clinton’s guards should stop carrying guns. He said:
“She doesn’t want guns. Let’s see what happens to her. Take their guns away, OK, it would be very dangerous.”
That’s pretty clear. It’s not even particularly subtle.
Oh, and let’s remember a few other facts about this whole sick scene.
First of all, Hillary Clinton has never called for the abolition of the Second Amendment, nor has she advocated taking away all guns. As usual, Donald Trump is lying through his teeth.
And one more thing: Donald Trump bans guns from all of his rallies and speeches.
Donald Trump is a dangerous, violent, hypocritical, lying narcissist. He will stop at nothing to get himself into the White House.
