Missouri Democrat Releases AMAZING Senate Campaign Ad (VIDEO)

Jason Kander, Missouri’s Secretary of State, is the Democratic opponent for current Missouri Senator Roy Blunt’s seat. One of Blunt’s main attacking points against Kander has been his stance on gun control (he supports background checks, among other common sense measures that the majority of Americans support).

In response to Blunt’s criticism, Kander released the following ad, which plays up Kander’s military service and level-headed approach to firearms.

The video begins with a blindfolded Kander standing with an unassembled rifle on the table in front of him. He begins to assemble the gun, still blindfolded, and addresses the camera as he works:

“I’m Jason Kander and Senator Blunt has been attacking me on guns. Well, in the Army, I learned how to use and respect my rifle. In Afghanistan, I volunteered to be an extra gun in a convoy of unarmored SUV’s. And in the state legislature, I supported Second Amendment rights. I also believe in background checks so that terrorists can’t get their hands on one of these. I approve this message.”

Kander then removes his blindfold with the completely assembled rifle in his hands. He finishes the ad looking directly into the camera.

Because I’d like to see Senator Blunt do this.”

Senator Roy Blunt has served in congress for over 20 years, both in the House of Representatives (1997-2011) and in the Senate (2011-present). During that time, he has voted against being able to sue gun manufacturers if their weapons are used for criminal activity, voted to reduce the waiting period of a gun purchase from 72 to 24 hours, and voted against the 2013 bill to expand background checks. He receives an ‘A’ rating from the National Rifle Association.

Kander is clearly banking on his common sense attitude and military credentials to help win the gun control issue against Blunt. Most current polls show Blunt with a slight lead in the race, although a few others have Kander winning. Nearly all are well within the margin of error, so this race seems like it is still anyone’s ballgame.

With Trump’s toxic campaign causing both Democratic and Republican committees to focus on the all-important Senate races, Kander will surely start receiving more money to get his ads on more television sets and in front of more potential voters. With his record and with campaign ads like this, he has a real chance to unseat one of the NRA’s favorite congressmen.
