This Police Officer Made A Once In A Lifetime Arrest

This woman was sexually abused when she was eight years old. Fifteen years later, she is now a police officer and has caught her attacker. She secretly taped his confession.

She can’t be named legally, so she is using the name “Hannah.”
Hannah said:

“I’ve always, always wanted to be a detective. I was fresh out of the academy. It was kind of, ‘If he’s going to talk, he’s going to talk’—how do I prove it?”

Erlis Joseph Chaisson, 47, was convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child by contact in Texas in August. He won’t be eligible for parole for 42 years.

His victim, who is now 27-years-old, was abused by Chaisson for a period of four years starting when she was eight-years-old.

She said:

“I thought to myself: I’m the difference between him and prison.”

Some of the acts that Chaisson did to her include having rubbed his penis between her legs, performed oral sex on her, and having guided her hand up and down his penis when she was a child.

The victim called him and arranged to meet him. He was talking to her “like he was talking to his best friend.” He confessed six times within an hour of her recording the meeting.

He actually said to her:

“Sweetheart, you was young and curious, and I was old enough to know better but too young to care. That’s the only way I can say it.”

The woman can’t be legally named, so she used the pseudonym, Hannah. The abuse stopped when she was 12, but it has affected her life and relationships. As a police officer, she felt that she had a duty to stop him and to keep other girls from being abused.

This woman is an inspiration. She was very brave to face her attacker in this way.
