WATCH: Hillary Clinton Reveals How She REALLY Feels About Monica Lewinsky Scandal

The Bill Clinton affair with Monica Lewinsky was heard around the world. It was what eventually led to the impeachment of Bill Clinton in 1998.

But, Hillary Clinton hasn’t let her husband’s mistakes define her strength or power.

In an interview with CNN, Clinton admitted “It was really hard, it was painful,” but like any girlfriends would do, Clinton’s girl-squad picked up the pieces:

“My friends just rallied around. They would come, they would try to make me laugh, recommend books to read, we would go on long walks, we would hang out and eat bad food, just the kinds of things you would do with your friends.”

Clinton speaks about her husband’s affair as if it no longer phases her. It’s been more than 20 years and we are still dwelling on it.

These are the tough questions she must deal with as a presidential candidate. But, she handled it with poise; she demonstrated she’s a real person with real emotions, just like the rest of us. However, Clinton wiped her hands clean of what’s-her-name years ago.

Many worry about Clinton being a female president and her emotions blinding her from the country’s future at stake. But, Clinton has persevered and showed how robust she is.

The Washington Free Beacon reported, “The Hillary Papers” in 2014; the diaries of late Diane Blair, a political science professor and one of Clinton’s closest friends.

In her diaries, Blair describes Clinton as fierce and strong, which she has proven to be, even in her political campaign:

“..she’s in it for the long haul. Partly because she’s stubborn; partly her upbringing; partly her pride–but, mostly because she knows who she is and what her values and priorities are and she’s straight with those–she really is okay.”

The same Sept. 9, 1998 entry by Blair describes Clinton as her husband’s backbone, even after the affair was leaked. Clinton believed in her husband as president and admired the considerable issues he was taking on for his country.

Clinton also spoke about her husband’s affair with Lewinsky in her memoir, “Living History.”

The remaining question is:

“What do we think it means in today’s election?”

It means Clinton is resilient and she can spit fire at anything that comes her way; Monica Lewinsky and Donald Trump, included.
