Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made a very ill-advised visit to Mexico this week. He met with the president and discussed the wall that he wants to build on the Mexican-American border. Supposedly, they didn’t discuss who would pay for the wall. It was nothing more than a photo-op.
He finally got face to face with the president, but they didn’t discuss the payment of the wall. The Mexican president is firm in saying that his country will not be paying for the wall.
Mexican president, Pena Nieto, wrote this about the visit:
“I was very clear in public and in private to emphasize the fact that in Mexico, we feel offended and hurt by his statements about Mexicans. I expressed that we deserve respect, that we are honest, hardworking people, that we value our families and the culture of effort.”
Trump even embarrassed himself with his hair. He had bobby pins sticking out of his ridiculous comb-over. The hamster on his head was uncomfortable.
This ad from the Hillary Clinton campaign points out how the Republican candidate has already embarrassed us as a country. He won’t mention who is paying for the wall until he is at a speech in another city.
The ad even shows Trump psyching up his crowd of sheep-like followers. He actually did the classic stage trick saying “Who’s going to pay for the wall?” Then, he had his fans repeat “Mexico!” multiple times.
Trump was hated before he even got to Mexico. The Huffington Post said:
“The legislative body called on Peña Nieto to demand that Trump publicly apologize for the insults he’s lobbed at Mexico, a list that notably includes the 2015 speech where Trump described the country’s migrants as criminals and “rapists.'”
If Trump were to be president, we would probably start losing allies. He just keeps alienating everyone.
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton took the opportunity to point out his embarrassment.
