‘He Doesn’t Like Jews:’ Now Bannon Comes Under Fire For Antisemitism (VIDEO)

It has not been a good week for Steve Bannon, the new CEO of Republican candidate Donald Trump’s election campaign. As Liberal America reported yesterday, evidence of registering to vote from a fraudulent address, and details of an old domestic violence case have both emerged in recent days. Now he faces a fresh accusation of making anti-semitic remarks.

This latest revelation has come to light since papers for the domestic violence case against ex-wife Mary Louise Piccard were re-examined this week. Although the case was first opened 20 years ago, it has been revisited frequently as the couple have wrangled several times over their separation settlement.

In a sworn declaration in 2007, Piccard said Bannon objected to sending their twin daughters to the prestigious Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles, because of its large number of Jewish pupils.

She told the court:

“He said he doesn’t like Jews and that he doesn’t like the way they raise their kids to be ‘whiney brats.'”

She also told the court that, on touring the library of another prospective school, he expressed concern over the number of books it contained on the Jewish faith.

Alexandra Preate, a spokeswoman for Bannon, was quick to deny he had made such remarks about the Archer school, claiming:

“Mr Bannon never said anything like that and proudly sent the girls to Archer for their middle school and high school education.”

However, the controversy provides yet another distraction from the serious election issues the Trump campaign wants to focus on in the run-up to polling day. It also chimes in with the casual anti-Semitism that Trump himself has displayed on more than one occasion.

Last month he had to hastily revise a graphic tweet that showed Hillary Clinton with a pile of dollars and what appeared to be a six-point Star of David. The tweet reappeared hours later with the star changed to a circle.

And in an address to the Republican Jewish Coalition late last year, he relied heavily on tired, ‘humorous’ Jewish characterizations, which drew a mixed response from his audience. He told them:

“I’m a negotiator like you folks were negotiators.”

Trump then went on to say:

“Is there anyone in this room who doesn’t negotiate deals? Probably more than any room I’ve ever spoken.”

So much controversy in so little time. It seems hard to imagine that it’s only been 10 days since Steve Bannon was unveiled as Trump’s new campaign leader. That event alone was greeted with uproar, as reported in this video.
