Earlier this morning on the MSNBC show “Morning Joe,” co-host Mika Brzezinski decided she’d finally had more than enough of GOP nominee Donald Trump. The final straw for her: Trump calling repeatedly calling Hillary Clinton a “bigot” in the past few days. Coming back from a commercial break, Brzezinski looked directly into the camera and said:
“Donald Trump, you have no idea what your words mean. You have no idea. You have no idea what your words mean. And I can’t pretend and sort of try and cover this fairly and put it in the objectivity. You have no idea what your words mean and what you’re doing to this country.”
Former GOP strategist Nicolle Wallace contrasted the way Trump is behaving with the way John McCain shut down a supporter who tried to suggest that Barack Obama was a Muslim and un-American. Brzezinski agreed with Wallace and then added:
“When he did the right thing, because he knows from right and wrong. Whether we agree with him or not, he’s a human being who knows from right and wrong and knows what his words mean.”
Wallace then sounded a note for warning for the entire country:
“And I thought, my God, (McCain) doesn’t care what happens in this election, he’s worried about the country.
So it’s not just what (Trump’s) doing. It’s what he’s done to the Republican Party, and I think we’ve sort of entered this black box phase, where we’ve crashed.”
While I admire what Brzezinski said regarding Trump, I also disagree with her on one point: Trump knows exactly what his words mean and what he’s doing to the country. He just doesn’t give a damn. It’s all about him, and if he has to destroy the country in the process, so be it. This is the most dangerous person to ever seek the Oval Office, and he must be defeated decisively in November.
