Whiny Texas Promises To Finally Secede If Clinton Wins (TWEETS, VIDEO)

This has been a pretty divisive election season. Many people say, “I will move if [candidate] gets elected.” Three out of five voters in Texas say that they would rather secede than deal with a possible President Hillary Clinton if the Democratic presidential nominee were to win.

In a recent poll, Texans were asked if they wanted to secede. In this case, 59 percent of people polled said they would rather stay in the United States. When surveyed about the presidential candidates, most of the people who supported Republicans were seniors. Clinton is winning among voters under the age of 45.

Among supporters of Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, 61 percent said they would support secession Clinton were to win.

Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling said:

“Republicans could have a big Texas problem in the decades ahead … The groups Democrats are strongest with are rapidly growing in their share of the electorate, while the voters Republicans rely on the most may not be there in 20 years.”

According to the Texas Nationalist Movement’s website, these are some of the reasons that Texans want to secede:

  • “Texas gets a government that begins and ends in Texas.
  • Independence is what the people of Texas want.
  • Texas gets a government that we choose.
  • An end to the failed Federal policy of unrestricted spending and limitless debt.
  • A secure border and a sane immigration policy.
  • A sound monetary policy based on real value.
  • Texas and the United States are on divergent political, cultural and economic paths.
  • Independence means an end to the siphoning of Texans’ hard-earned money by D.C. bureaucrats.”

What Will We Lose If Texas Secedes?

1. Healthcare Woes

Texas has the lowest rate of people with healthcare in the country, and the highest number of uninsured children and people overall. Also, 22 percent of Texans are unemployed.

2. Strict Abortion Laws

They don’t allow abortion after 20 weeks. They tried to require abortion providers to have admitting privileges at every hospital within 30 miles, but the Supreme Court struck that law in a 5-3 majority vote.

3. Unconstitutional Religious Tests

To hold public office in Texas, you must acknowledge a “supreme being.” This is completely unconstitutional and even goes against its own state Constitution.
