Rudy Giuliani Makes Word Pretzels Defending Trump’s Latest Gaffs (VIDEO)

And the hits just keep on coming.

After Presidential Candidate Donald Trump made his ridiculous remarks about President Obama being the founder of the terrorist group ISIS, Rudy Giuliani defended him in an interview with Chris Cuomo on the CNN Network.

Chris Cuomo, who was performing God’s work, spent a good portion of the interview questioning Rudy Giuliani about his positions concerning Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton’s emails, Donald Trump’s candidacy, and whether or not the Republican Party is being unfairly treated by the media.

The majority of the interview consisted of Rudy Giuliani spouting the typical Republican rhetoric that is blasted on Fox News every hour.

But things heated up when Chris Cuomo questioned him about Donald Trump’s comments in which Trump accused President Obama of being the founder of ISIS and Hillary Clinton of being the co-founder.

When taken literally, Donald Trump’s words clearly have no merit, but Rudy Giuliani made the argument they were a “legitimate political commentary” about the growing strength of ISIS.

“Before Obama, ISIS was an almost unknown, small little organization. … And here’s why it happened: because he withdrew the troops from Iraq.”

And of course, Rudy Giuliani’s views on ISIS are remarkably simple for something as complex and dangerous as terrorist networks in the Middle East. If he were to open up a newspaper, he would learn that the United States and its allies have done a decent job of rolling back ISIS through drone strikes across the region.

Leaders in ISIS recognize they are losing the war at home, which is why they are extending their reach to any sympathetic European ear they can find.

Things get even more laughable when the subject turns to Hillary Clinton. Rudy Giuliani had the audacity to assert that Donald Trump’s comments about people shooting Hillary Clinton were similar to her remarks during the 2008 campaign where she justified staying in the race because Bobby Kennedy was not assassinated until June in 1968.

Chris Cuomo quickly commented and said:

“You know what she did after she said that? She apologized.”

Rudy Giuliani responded by saying that “she was wrong.”

And if that isn’t enough to make you blow a gasket, he then alleges that what Donald Trump said wasn’t wrong in the slightest. He said:

“Chris, Chris, Chris, Chris. He didn’t encourage them to do that. He was saying don’t vote for her. It’s the Clinton spin machine.”

Clearly the Clinton spin machine has magical powers that no one else in the world possesses. How else could they manage to put words into Donald Trump’s mouth, and make the tone of those words seem like he was daring gun owners to take care of Hillary Clinton?

The quick answer is they weren’t. Donald Trump said what he said and meant every word of it. And Rudy Giuliani should be ashamed of himself for perpetually defending a candidate as unqualified and absurd as Donald Trump.

And many of you, after reading this piece, are probably asking the question what happened to Rudy Giuliani? Wasn’t he the moderate Republican Governor of New York? What made him become so outlandish and divisive?

The answer to these questions can be summed up in one word: relevancy.

This is a man who is trying to claw his way back into the spotlight and sees defending Donald Trump as his ticket back into political power.

You can always judge a person by their consistency and their intentions during rough times. Rudy Giuliani has proven that he will change with the wind and this change clearly demonstrates that his intentions have been to benefit himself politically, not the American people.
