BREAKING: Top Aide Says Chris Christie ‘Flat Out Lied’ About Bridgegate

Though he would deny it and probably try to pick a fight with you if you brought it up, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie knows better than anyone that his involvement in the Bridgegate mess is what kept him from being chosen as Donald Trump’s running mate.

Now we some previously unreleased text messages have surfaced which prove that Christie has been lying all along.

Court documents which have just come to light clearly prove that Christie aide Christina Genovese Renna was sending text messages to Christie’s attorney, Mark Sheridan, during a 2013 press conference on the scandal which became known as Bridgegate.

One of the most damning text messages has Renna telling Sheridan that Christie has just lied to the media when he responded to a question as to whether or not his campaign manager, Bill Stepien, had any knowledge of the lane closures that aides to the Governor orchestrated as a form of payback to the Democratic mayor of Fort Lee who had not endorsed Christie for reelection. The message reads:

“Are you listening? He just flat out lied about senior staff and Stepien not being involved”

Later, after Christie’s attorney has told Renna Christie seems to be doing fine with the press conference, Renna replies:

“But he lied. And if emails are found with subpoena…it could be bad.”

Yes, it would be very bad. And if Christie made any statements under oath and it can be proven he lied, that would be grounds for charging him with perjury. We already know that some of those involved in Bridgegate have agreed to cooperate with the U.S. Attorney in exchange for their testimony. Might they blow the whistle on Christie? Only time will tell.
