A Muslim, Gold Star family gave a powerful speech during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) last month. Khizr Khan was talking about his son Humayun, who lost his life in 2004 in Iraq.
He said this directed at Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump:
“Donald Trump, you are asking Americans to trust you with our future. Let me ask you: Have you even read the U.S. Constitution? I will gladly lend you my copy. In this document, look for the words ‘liberty’ and ‘equal protection of law.'”
After this speech, the ACLU started a campaign to hand out free copies of the Constitution, which they’ll continue until Election Day.
Now, protesters are showing up at Trump rallies holding up their own copies of the Constitution.

Here is what Trump had to say about the protesters:
“It’s sort of rude, when you think about it. We want jobs, we want health care. We’re looking for the same thing. You want to have a good life. You want safety. And then we have people interrupting constantly.”
“I sorta miss my protesters. The Bernie [Sanders] people had spirit. You don’t get it from Hillary.”
I’m glad people are supporting Khan and going after Trump. Khan expressed strong patriotism in his speech while he was tearing Donald Trump a new one. He said:
“Like many immigrants, we came to this country empty-handed. We believed in American democracy — that with hard work and the goodness of this country, we could share in and contribute to its blessings.
We were blessed to raise our three sons in a nation where they were free to be themselves and follow their dreams…
…Hillary Clinton was right when she called my son the best of America.’ If it was up to Donald Trump, he never would have been in America.”
