Warren Buffett Gives Donald Trump ‘An Offer I Hope He Can’t Refuse’ (VIDEO)

Warren Buffett officially threw down the gauntlet at a Clinton rally in Omaha, Nebraska on August 1. Calling it “an offer I hope he cannot refuse,” Buffett called for Donald Trump to release his tax returns. Trump has not released his returns up to this point, citing the fact that he is being audited by the IRS for his refusal to do so. Buffett was having none of that, and issued a challenge to Mr. Trump:

“I’ll bring my tax return. He can bring his tax return. Nobody is going to arrest us. There are no rules against showing your tax returns and just let[ting] people ask questions about the items that are on there… I will meet him in Omaha, or Mar-a-Lago, or he can pick the place.”

It is customary for presidential candidates to release their tax returns for public scrutiny. Trump has refused to do so, and there is no word if his running mate Mike Pence will do so either. Despite Trump’s excuses, experts say there is no reason that being audited should stop him from revealing them.

Warren Buffett knows that, too.

“I’ve got news for him, I’m under audit, too. I would be delighted to meet him any time, any place before the election.”

Buffett further commented that someone should only be wary of releasing his tax returns if he has something to hide. He then addressed the American voters directly and received a cheer from the Omaha crowd:

“And he’s not afraid because of… the IRS. He’s afraid because of you.”

There has been no response to Mr. Buffett’s challenge from the Trump campaign as of yet. Because he has more important things to do, like attacking the family of a slain American soldier, and completely mucking up foreign policy strategy.

Is it November yet?
