Obama On Trump, Putin Involvement In DNC Email Hacking: ‘Anything’s Possible’ (VIDEO)

Obama weighed in on the new email bonanza that occurred within internal Democratic National Committee emails latest hacking scandal. In an interview with NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie, President Obama said:

Anything’s possible.

The FBI is in the process of investigating who was responsible for the breach. In response to the Russian allegations, the President had this to say:

“What we do know is the Russians hack our systems, not just government systems, but private systems. But what the motives were in terms of leaks and all that, I can’t say directly, but what I do know is that Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed admiration for Vladimir Putin.”

Trump’s Response

Meanwhile, Donald Trump began to distance himself away from Vladimir Putin. He had a few choice words to say about the DNC email situation with a foreign nation’s involvement. In usual Trump fashion, he uttered a ridiculous statement. The Republican nominee has been quoted at a recent press conference as saying:

“They probably have them. I’d like to have them released. It gives me no pause. If they have them, they have them… If Russia or China or any other country has those emails, I mean, to be honest with you, I’d love to see them.”

Now that is an “out there” statement. Good luck to whatever way Trump is going to try to spin that one. This is the first time a presidential candidate has called for outright public espionage.

Political parties have always had their dissenting opinions and dirty backhanded tactics. But there was still a general level of civility to it. For the short-term minded populace, do you remember something called the Watergate Scandal?

You may think of the trendy new way the media likes to add a “gate” to every minor irrelevance that occurs, but back in the 1970s this actually meant something. Attempting to spy on another political party led to the only president to resign in American history — Richard Nixon. Even if Trump said this to grab headlines, such outlandish claims have never been made in the public sphere before.

Obama’s Plan of Action

Instead of adding to the nonsense, the Obama Administration has taken action to deal with a future threat of this level. A directive was just released on how to classify these types of attacks. Level 5 is an emergency that would be an immediate threat to critical systems, such as the power grid, governmental stability, or other catastrophic events.

The chart goes down in subsequent lesser order. The White House has simplified the organization chart for widespread use amongst businesses and other government related businesses. The Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center (CTIIC) is instrumental in figuring out who has directed such an attack.

It’s good to know that some politicians still care about leading for the common good.
