Boom! Hillary Clinton ‘Adamantly Opposed’ To Ignoring The First Amendment (VIDEO)

On Sunday night, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton conducted his first joint news interview with her vice presidential nominee, Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.)

Reporter Scott Pelley interviewed the Democratic candidates. Unfortunately, this great line from Mrs. Clinton didn’t make it to the televised special. I am so glad that CBS posted it online.

She made an amazing statement while answering a question about Senator Bernie Sanders’ (D-Vt.) religion being attacked. She said she hadn’t heard about it, but she added:

“I am adamantly opposed to anyone bringing religion into our political process. I mean, the Constitution says no religious test, so that is just absolutely wrong and unacceptable.”

This is absolutely wonderful. She talked about the separation of church and state, and I’m so glad she did.

The conversation turned toward Senator Sanders and his religion. He says he is Jewish, but a lot of people got fussy over whether or not he is religious. Someone even “accused” him of being an atheist, which is in no way an offensive thing. I do wish Clinton had said something about an atheist being capable of being president, but that’s okay. Baby steps.

The story Clinton is referring to is that of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) trying to attack Sen. Sanders over his religion. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the DNC, Brad Marshall, said this in an email:

“It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.”

Marshall apologized, but he didn’t apologize to Sanders. He posted this on Facebook:

“I deeply regret that my insensitive, emotional emails would cause embarrassment to the DNC, the Chairwoman, and all of the staffers who worked hard to make the primary a fair and open process. The comments expressed do not reflect my beliefs nor do they reflect the beliefs of the DNC and its employees. I apologize to those I offended.”

I hope Hillary Clinton will put her foot down on the religious people who are trying to get their religion into our government.
