Bernie Sanders Says He Approves Of Tim Kaine As VP (VIDEO)

While he may still have some legitimate grievances against the Democratic National Committee as run by Debbie Wasserman Schultz, it turns out that the Democratic runner-up in the race for the White House is fine with Hillary Clinton’s selection of Virginia Senator Tim Kaine as her running mate.

Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sanders told host Jake Tapper:

“On his worst, worst, worst day, Tim Kaine is 100 times better than Donald Trump will ever be.”

The Vermont Senator also elaborated on his thoughts about his Senate colleague:

“Tim is an extremely bright guy, a very nice guy. Are his political views different than mine? Yes, they are. He is more conservative than I am. But compared to Donald Trump, a guy who rejects science, doesn’t even believe that climate change is real, let alone that we have to take bold action to transform our energy system, a Donald Trump who wants to give hundreds of billions of dollars in tax breaks to the top two-tenths of 1 percent, a Donald Trump who goes around the country insulting Mexicans and Latinos and Muslims and women, veterans and African-Americans…”

Not to mention compared to GOP running mate Mike Pence, who has been called the most anti-woman candidate to ever serve in any office.

As the Democratic National Convention begins tomorrow in Philadelphia, it appears that the Democratic Party, unlike the Republicans who held their convention earlier this week in Cleveland, are unified and supportive of their ticket. Sanders will be speaking in primetime, and he has already endorsed Clinton. Expect more displays of unity this week as the Democrats mobilize to defeat Trump–and Pence–in November.
