A GOP Congressman Just Claimed ‘White Males’ Have Been Left Out Of Politics (VIDEO)

Sometimes you hear something so patently ridiculous and unreal that it literally makes your jaw drop.

For example, consider this statement made by Wisconsin GOP Congressman Sean Duffy Friday on CNN as he discussed Donald Trump’s acceptance speech at the Republican convention this week:

“I think what a lot of people want, the greatest line of the speech was when he pointed at the camera and said, ‘I’m going to fight for you.’ There are so many people who feel like they’ve been left aside. There’s a viewpoint that says, ‘I can fight for minorities, and I can fight for women,’ and if you get that, you make up a vast majority of the voting block and you win. And white males have been left aside a little bit in the politics of who speaks to them.

“White males have been left aside a little bit in the politics of who speaks to them — not in regard to the economy and culture — but who speaks to them politically. Donald Trump is, I think, speaking across a wide breadth of people in a way that I think you’re going to see these numbers pop.”

While males have been left aside in politics? No one speaks for them? Are you absolutely sure you wanna go with that statement, Congressman?

Well, let’s take a look at these facts:

  • Of the 44 President’s we’ve had, only ONE has NOT been a white male
  • Since the United States Senate was established in 1789, there have been a total of 46 female Senators
  • In all of American history, there have been four African-American United States Senators. FOUR!
  • It’s 2016 and we have yet to elect a woman as President
  • 80 percent of those in Congress in 2015 were white men

Does that sound like white men have been left aside in this country, even today?

What Congressman Duffy–along with many in the new Trumpian Republican Party–is trying to do is pretend that whites are an aggrieved minority and have to be protected by the GOP and their new fascist standard-bearer, who has played footsie with the KKK and neo-Nazis.

As a white male, I have a message for Congressman Duffy and his entire party: I will be voting for Hillary Clinton in November, as will ever member of my immediate family. And I hope one day in this country everyone will be a nice shade of beige except for you and your ilk. That way you can know what it really feels like to be excluded.
