Tuesday evening at the Republican convention, Chris Christie stepped to the podium and gave a speech in which he accused Hillary Clinton of having committed all manner of crimes as Secretary of State. The list was long, and it later turned out, totally false, which seems to be the calling card of Republicans in the Age of Trump.
For her part, Clinton, rather than getting angry or lowering herself to the wormlike level of Christie, released a video of them hugging:
The video was shot in February of this year as the two were appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” and at the time Christie even remarked:
“All I do is hug Democrats. It gets me in trouble all the time.”
That line was followed by the New Jersey Governor telling Clinton:
“Tell the president I said hi.”
You have to admit that the video, when contrasted with the nasty things Christie said from the stage Tuesday, makes him look like one hell of a hypocrite who will do anything to ingratiate himself with the new king of the GOP, Donald Trump, whose ass he is only too happy to kiss when the Orange Menace requests it.
Chris Christie is a bully, a blowhard, and a loser. He wanted to be Vice President with Trump and was rejected. His approval ratings in New Jersey are at a historic low. He has no job when his current term runs out. He is desperately hoping and praying Trump wins so he can be Attorney General or Chief of Staff. Or, should Trump once again snub him, he will no doubt accept a position as Presidential dog walker.
Karma is a funny thing. Unless, of course, you’re Chris Christie and it’s taking a giant bite out of your posterior.
