Marco Rubio Begrudgingly Endorses Trump (VIDEO)

A few months ago, during the Republican candidate debates, Marco Rubio called Donald Trump a “conman”. Now he is calling for unity within the Republican party. It is hard to believe that Rubio’s speech was coming from a sincere place. Unlike Cruz, Rubio took the opportunity at the RNC to (sort of) endorse Trump via video tape.

WATCH here:

Rubio does not tell the convention how great he thinks Trump is. He does not clarify that he no longer considers Trump to be a “conman”. Just last month Rubio joined many others in condemning Trump’s questioning of a federal judge over his Mexican heritage.

Instead, Rubio preferred to use his less than one and a half minutes, to attack Hilary Clinton and Obama on various points. The main thing he emphasized, was that Trump is very “unlike” Hilary and Obama (as if the whole world doesn’t already know this).

With regard to previous disagreements within the party, he also said

“The time for fighting each other is over… to win in November.”

The Republican convention in Cleveland has become quite the circus. From people in the crowd chanting “Lock her up!” and “guilty!”towards Hilary Clinton, to no endorsement from Ted Cruz, to Trump being likened to former president Ronald Reagan, the convention continues to shock and raise eyebrows. It seems very strange that a man with no political experience has come as far as this. The odder thing is that this inexperience seems to be why he is so popular. The question begs, why would anyone want someone with so little political experience to run a party, let alone a country?

As Trump uses the classic Queen song “We are the champions” without the permission of the remaining members of Queen, an Obama quote springs to mind

“Ignorance is not a virtue. It’s not cool to not know what you’re talking about.”
