Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, who has been accused of sexual harassment by several women, including former host Gretchen Carlson, is about to get the ax at the conservative news network, according to a report from “New York” magazine.
Reporter Gabriel Sherman is reporting that the Murdoch family has made the decision that Ailes is a liability and must be removed from his position as the head of Fox News immediately.
Murdoch retained the law firm of Paul, Weiss to conduct a thorough private investigation into Ailes’ alleged sexual misconduct at Fox News. Sources are now saying that the investigation did not clear Ailes but instead found evidence he did indeed harass female employees.
Another source told Sherman:
“James Murdoch is said to be arguing that Ailes should be presented with a choice this week to resign or face being fired.”
