WATCH: North Carolina Law Enforcement Served Tampered Food At Local Restaurant

A group of police officers in North Carolina decided to go to a restaurant during their lunch break. The employees were very rude and their food was tampered with when they got it.

One of their wives posted online which confirmed the incident at a local Zaxby’s:

“As they walked up to place their orders, the boys in the back cooking the food started yelling at them and calling them names.”

Her husband and his partner continued to order. Then, when they got their food, one of the officers said that they put the spiciest sauce they had on it. It was too spicy for him to eat.

Cleveland County Captain Joel Shores said:

“If you’re not ready to be ridiculed, law enforcement is not the job for you, especially in today’s world.”

“…We don’t want to shoot no one. We don’t want to pepper spray. We don’t want to taser, that’s not what we wake up to do. We wake up to protect.”

We should not have to warn officers that they will be ridiculed. They protect us and we should treat them better.

The restaurant is an independently owned franchise. They are conducting an internal investigation into the incident.

Zaxby’s released a statement saying:

“The Zaxby’s located at 2005 E. Dixon Blvd., Shelby, N.C. is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. It is our goal to always provide every guest with exceptional service.”

“Upon notification of this incident we launched an internal investigation with our management team and are working quickly to resolve this issue.”

One of the wives also wrote:

“It is tough enough to watch my husband put on his uniform and go out into a world full of hate towards cops, all while I sit home and worry if he will return home safely. It is really sad that we are living in a world where the actions of people affect my husband (who puts his life on the line for ALL people) being able to go get food on his 12-hour shift — on a Sunday for that matter!”

You can’t blame one officer for the actions of others. These guys work hard every day, they don’t deserve to be treated so badly.
