Defrocked Priest Committed The Most Horrific Act Of Child Abuse You’ve Heard Of

Anthony “Tony” Walsh is an Irish, former Elvis-impersonating priest. He has had two years added to his sentence because he raped a 10-year-old boy with a crucifix. This boy was one of probably hundreds who were molested by this disgusting man.

This is one of the worst cases of child abuse imaginable. He is currently serving a prison sentence for other offenses as well. This incident will add the two years to his sentence.

He actually pled not guilty to five counts of indecently assaulting the same boy. The boy was between the ages of 10 and 13.

He was sentenced to 123-years in 2010; at the time it was the toughest sentence ever handed down on child abuse. Some priest and members at his church in Ireland said he is:

“…Probably the most notorious child sexual abuser to have come to the attention of the Commission… His pattern of behaviour is such that it is likely that he has abused hundreds of children.”

The jury of two women and 10 men took an hour to deliberate on this sentence. They returned a guilty verdict. The abuse started in the early ’80s. In 1986 some of the families of the victims told the church what happened. He was sent away for six months of treatment. When he came back he was named hospital chaplain.

He was initially sent to prison for 10-years but he got it reduced to six years on appeal. He was released in 2002.

In January of this year, he was given another one-year sentence for abusing a girl. She was between the ages of seven and 10 at the time. He told her that it was a game and:

“We were only having fun, don’t tell anyone.”

He will be free in 2028 at the age of 75 unless more years are added to his sentence. Hopefully, they won’t let him back into the church after this one.
