Atheists To Protest Inaccurate Noah’s Ark Museum

Ken Ham, idiot creationist extraordinaire, opened a $100 million Noah’s Ark attraction in Louisville, Kentucky. A group of atheists is now planning to protest at this opening.

One of the most aggravating parts is that this monstrosity is receiving state funds. This makes me so angry. The state was actually forced to pay the legal fees when they lost their case against the Ark museum.

The lawsuit said that the attraction is a church-funded attraction, so providing funding violates the First Amendment:

“Further, the denial of public funds to Plaintiffs reflects no hostility toward Plaintiffs’ faith — and as a matter of law, there has been no violation of the Free Speech Clause, Plaintiffs’ Right of Expressive Association, the Free Exercise Clause, the Equal Protection Clause, or the Due Process Clause.”

Some of the protestors are part of the organization Tri-State Atheists and Freethinkers. They are opposed to the Ark’s promotion of the story of the flood to children. It is not a happy story. Ed Hensley and his wife Mikel are protesting and they had this to say about it:

“We’re opposed predominantly because it’s a story of genocide. It is, therefore, a celebration, an amusement park, that celebrates genocide.”

“And killed by God, who is supposed to be our perfect moral example.”

The guy behind this ridiculous “park,” Ken Ham, said:

“I believe you’re going to find all sorts of people from all walks of life with all sorts of religious backgrounds who are going to come here. And even if they don’t share our biblical view, they can’t help but be impressed by the structure, craftsmanship and by the attention to detail of the world-class exhibits inside.”

Ham received some bad press last month because he forces his unmarried female employees to sign chastity pledges.

The protest happened Thursday morning at the opening of the Ark Encounter. Here is of the signs that the protestors had:

The atheists at the protest have a nice song to sing to the supporters also:

Here is what is going on with real science:

Twitter users also had some fun slogans to offer when this plan was announced:

My favorite:

You may know of Ken Ham from his 2014 debate with Bill Nye. This occurred at his Creation Museum. If you have the time to watch it, please do.
