Hypocrite Much? Stacey Dash Tells Women To ‘Work Harder’ Instead Of Fighting For Equal Pay

Stacey Dash is a conservative political commentator. This is the same woman who said that we should abolish Black History Month because it’s “unfair” to white people:

“We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration. And if we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like B.E.T. and the B.E.T. Awards and the Image Awards where you’re only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”

She sparked controversy when she told Meredith Vieira that women should just work harder and quit complaining about their salaries.

Dash said:

“It’s an excuse. Stop making excuses. If there are opportunities, seize them. And be prepared for them. And be the best, if that’s what it takes. If you have to be extraordinary, be extraordinary.”

When told about women making seventy cents for every dollar a man makes, Dash said:

“I don’t know if that’s true. I know that the numbers are true, but I feel like your daughter will be able to make as much money as she wants in her life. Just like you are. I mean, look at you.”

A decade earlier, she filed for bankruptcy in 2004; those documents have surfaced. Apparently, she was getting a $6,000 per month allowance from her fiancee. She was in so much debt that she couldn’t support herself, but women should just “work harder.” I wouldn’t take this woman’s advice on which gum to chew.

Dash was trying to make it in the acting business, but she said that she’s been persecuted since her foray into politics:

“My acting opportunities have ceased because of my political beliefs. I’m being persecuted in Hollywood. I’ve been blacklisted. My agents have dropped me.”
