As*hat Jehovah’s Witnesses Destroy An Indigenous Temple In Mexico

A group of Jehovah’s Witnesses reportedly destroyed some ancient statues in Mexico recently. This disgusting act of religious intolerance was allegedly performed because these priceless artifacts are “not Christian.”

Over a dozen stone structures in the 7,000-year-old Makonikha sanctuary were destroyed. These alters were spiritual for the Otomi Indigenous people.

From the Encyclopedia Britannica:

“Otomí, Middle American Indian population living in the central plateau region of Mexico. The Otomí peoples speak at least four closely related languages, all called Otomí. A rather large number of modern Otomí no longer speak the Otomí language but continue to consider themselves Otomí. All the Otomí peoples are culturally similar.”

The Jehovah’s Witnesses fessed up for being behind the destruction. They think that these ancient civilizations were practicing “devil worship.” These people worshipped the elements earth, air, fire, and water.

While the attackers have been identified as Jehovah’s Witnesses, the church is distancing themselves from these allegations. Professor Luis Perez Lugo at the University of Chapingo nearby said:

“I was there, and the Jehovah’s Witnesses said they had done it.”

“They said it (the pre-Hispanic ceremonies) weren’t in their Bible, and, in their words, they said it was piggish, garbage that wasn’t in the Bible, and so they went to clear out what was offensive to their God.”

The Jehovah’s Witness spokesman in Mexico, Gamaliel Camarillo, said that:

“…to the extent we have been able to investigate, we found this story to be false”.

“We know that if we want to be respected, we have to respect others. People without prejudices who know the Jehovah’s Witnesses know that we don’t promote such acts.”

These people were just horribly disrespectful. You can’t expect civilizations that have been around longer than your religion has to fit into your faith. Compared to other ancient civilizations, Christianity is fairly new.
