Top 10 Gay Anthems We Need Now

We dealt with a tragedy this month after the shooting in Orlando. Sadly, forty-nine people at a gay nightclub, Pulse, lost their lives. Unfortunately, many nasty RWNJs are “celebrating” these murders and are happy that the gay people are dead. There is already so much hate in the world, and this is just sickening.

We really need some happy moments right now. In that spirit, I’m presenting to you the best gay anthems that you can listen to. Put these on your next party playlist or put them on when you want to just “dance it out” by yourself. These songs celebrate freedom and individuality.

1. “Don’t Stop Me Now” – Queen

You knew he was going to be on here. Freddie Mercury was one of the best vocalists ever. Unfortunately, he lost his life to AIDS, but his music will live on forever.

2. “Relax” – Frankie Goes To Hollywood

This ’80s classic has a music video set in a gay bar. The video just highlights the debauchery theme in the song. It features skimpy leather outfits and other BDSM fun.

3. “True Colors” – Cyndi Lauper

This sweet song has become an anthem for every struggling queer kid out there.

4. “I Kissed A Girl” – Katy Perry

Oh, you know this had to be on there. This is the hit that turned the former Christian singer into the sexy pop star we know today. Also, this song is the perfect anthem for the bi-curious ladies out there.

5. “Beautiful” – Christina Aguilera

This is a wonderful song for everyone. Anyone who is having self-esteem problems or depression or any problems should enjoy this song.

6. “Brave” – Sara Bareilles

This is an absolutely wonderful, empowering anthem. It is so catchy and the beat is absolutely infectious. This will be stuck in your head for days. You’re welcome.

7. “I’m Coming Out” – Diana Ross

You know I had to include this one. The songstress supposedly wrote this as a tribute to her many LGBT fans back in the ’70s.

8. “Let It Go” – Disney’s “Frozen” Movie, Elsa

This ought to piss off some conservatives out there. Listen to this carefully, it is the perfect coming out song. This is one of the catchiest, biggest song out of any modern Disney movie.

9. “We Are Family” – Sister Sledge

This is another classic gay favorite. You can hear this disco tune at the end of the movie “The Birdcage.”

10. “YMCA” – Village People

We can’t have a gay anthem list without this one. I’m sure many people don’t realize this when they are dancing to it.
