The Federal Elections Commission released its latest report on Donald Trump’s campaign. Just a few days ago we heard that the Trump campaign might be going downhill. This is great news, everyone. If we can crush Donald Trump’s campaign, he may not even make it to the election. Now, it has been confirmed. Trump’s campaign is not doing well.
1. He Only Has $1.3 Million On Hand.
This is a very small amount for a national presidential campaign. In contrast, Hillary Clinton’s campaign has $42.5 million on hand. Many congressional candidates have more money on hand, and they aren’t running congressional campaigns.
This puts Trump at a disadvantage heading into the general election. It’s not just the money, either. Trump’s campaign only has 70 employees; Clinton has over 700 paid employees. Republicans were hoping that Trump would raise the money after winning the Indiana primary on May 3, but he didn’t.
2. He Only Raised $3.1 Million In May.
Yes, he is even running low on donations. Clinton’s campaign raised over $4 million in New York in one day last month.

One writer pointed out that the Kickstarter campaign for the Veronica Mars movie raised $5.7 million in one month. I would rather see Veronica Mars for president.

3. Trump Paid His Own Companies From His Campaign.
Trump’s campaign may be failing, but he is still finding ways to pay his own companies. He actually paid $1 million to several of his properties and companies. He reported spending $423,372 for rooms and catering at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. Trump paid his own campaign $350,000 for the use of his private jet. Trump claims to be worth $10 billion and said he could make money from his campaign.
4. He Spent More Money On “Make America Great Again” Hats.
He spent more money on those silly, red “Make America Great Again” hats than he did on advertising.
Trump campaign expenses in May, per @FEC report:
Hats: $208k
Online advertising: $115k
Data management: $48k
Communications consulting: $38k— Kenneth P. Vogel (@kenvogel) June 21, 2016
5. He Paid A Questionable Advertising Firm.
It may seem okay that Trump paid an advertising firm in May, but it doesn’t exactly check out. He paid $35,000 to a firm named “Draper Sterling.” You can see their building below. It sounds like a fake name, since these are Mad Men names.
