Who would host an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle giveaway just weeks after 49 people were massacred in their state? A Republican state senator of course. Florida’s very own Sen. Greg Evers to be exact.
Just recently Evers tweeted this about his Facebook giveaway:

The winner of this giveaway will be rewarded on July 4. Evidently this is Evers’ way of showing his patriotism and protecting the Second Amendment. He must be a proud host. In a very recent Facebook post, Evers says:
“Let’s tell it like it is. The Obama Administration has failed us, instead of taking on Radical Islam, they would rather take our 2nd Amendment rights away leaving us defenseless to further acts of terror like the one we just saw in Orlando. The liberal media would love to frame my message as insensitive; the truth is it was President Obama’s reaction to this terrorist attack that drove my campaign to staunchly defend our 2nd Amendment rights.”
Well you knew it had to be Obama’s fault somehow. In true Republican fashion though, he goes on to brag about his NRA rating and ask for money by continuing with:
“I have had an “A” rating from the NRA for 15 years. I need your help combating those who would tear our constitution to shreds. Will you donate $15 today, $1 for each year I have received an “A” rating? With your help I can continue this fight in Washington. Thanks you for your continued support.”
Now Liberals want to “tear our constitution to shreds.” Does the fear-mongering ever stop? According to ABC News it doesn’t. They report that the proud host ranted in a new release:
“With terrorism incidents on the rise, both at home and abroad, protecting our constitutional rights has never been more important. With all that’s happening in the world today, I’ve never felt stronger about the importance of the Second Amendment in protecting our homeland than I do now.”
For those feeling his type of patriotism, the Second Amendment will be engraved into the AR-15.
Maybe he can get his colleagues in the Senate to host a “Yes” party to pass sensible gun-control laws. While there are many on the books already, circumstances and social climates change.
