WATCH: Senior Trump Adviser Says Waterboarding Clinton Won’t Get The Truth

We all know that Republican frontrunner Donald Trump (R-N.Y.) holds extreme positions, and his campaign workers, volunteers, and supporters are no different. In fact, most people who support Trump are known for their extreme positions and never-ending support of their candidate.

Sometimes the outcome is nothing short of hilarious, while at other times it is be downright violent.

True Feelings About Clinton

Trump thinks former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) is a crook and a liar. He’s spouted enough rhetoric on the campaign trail that anyone following him largely feel the same, regardless of what the facts are.

It should come as no surprise then that, according to CNN, one of Trump’s advisers would even consider talking about torture in the same sentence as Sec. Clinton; The Donald’s most hated rival.

Insane Ramblings

Senior Trump adviser Barry Bennett reached a dangerous, almost delusional state when he spouted off about Sec. Clinton and the supposed email scandal while talking with CNN’s Kate Bolduan, during her show, At This Hour. The words that came out of his mouth somehow managed to set a new low for the Trump campaign.

Bennett started by talking about how Sec. Clinton’s lawyers supposedly “signed off on it,” referring to her use of the private server. He indicated that Sec. Clinton lied about the lawyers, an said that even the Inspector General contradicted the lawyer statement.

Bennett then continued, saying,

She said she would cooperate with all the investigations – she stonewalled the IG and now everybody is taking the Fifth.”

In this case, Bennett is referring to Sec. Clinton’s IT aide who made a deal with the FBI. He’s giving his testimony on what he knows about the email server in exchange for immunity, while others connected to the case are are reserving their Fifth Amendment right to not incriminate themselves, according to The Hill.

Dangerous Reality Of Trump’s Campaign

Bennett then said something so outlandish, so dangerous, that it almost knocked the wind out of Bolduan:

You couldn’t get the truth out of Hillary if you waterboarded her … You couldn’t get the truth out of her with a waterboard.”

When did it become acceptable to talk about the potential torturing of anyone in our free society, let alone one of the most identifiable people in the world?

Only someone connected to Trump or his campaign would feel able to freely say such a thing, knowing how much outrage it would probably cause, let alone possibly be taken as a threat by Sec. Clinton’s secret service detail.

Torturing Intelligence

That waterboarding is banned as a viable intelligence gathering technique doesn’t seem to faze Bennett – or Trump for that matter. Trump openly called for the return of the torture technique on the campaign trail, and his staff and supporters doubled down on the rhetoric for him. Screw the Geneva Convention, they say.

It’s only since Trump opened his hateful mouth and empowered bigots, misogynists, and other generally violent people – wannabe Americans – that anyone would have the nerve to say such a thing in private, let alone on a popular daytime news program like CNN’s At This Hour.

This type of rhetoric in today’s society is just appalling; that Trump encourages and calls for it is even more so.

Even though it almost seems like Bennett has no clue what waterboarding actually is – it’s not a thing, it’s a technique, and illegal – talking about performing the act on anyone, let alone a presidential candidate is beyond sane – and borderline criminal.
