Smartest Man In The World: Trump Appeals To ‘Lowest Common Denominator’

Everyone knows Stephen Hawking as a theoretical physicist, author, and overall brilliant guy. When you need an answer to a difficult question, he seems like the one to go to. But when asked about Donald Trump’s meteoric rise to the forefront of American politics, even this genius seemed stumped.

During an appearance on British morning program “Good Morning Britain,” when Hawking was asked to explain Trump’s popularity, he responded:

“I can’t… He is a demagogue, who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator.”

Ouch. That is what we call a burn.

That makes another Brit that isn’t too impressed with Trump.

Trump already has a rocky relationship with the British after saying that the country has a “massive Muslim problem” on Twitter, and he even triggered a public petition that received over a half million signatures to ban the presumptive Republican nominee from the country.

The Trump campaign has not, as of yet, responded to the comments, but we can venture a few guesses to the stupidity we will get in return. Maybe some idiotic comment about Hawking’s ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) and his appearance? Something about his nationality, perhaps? Or some other new low that Trump has yet to sink to?

Hawking also gave his opinion on the United Kingdom’s possible departure from the European Union (he is not a fan) and echoed his past warning that climate change is the most important issue facing the world today. Donald Trump, on the other hand, has a different opinion on global warming:

Not exactly a sound scientific theory, Donald. Maybe we leave the big problems to Stephen Hawking, eh?
