Rubio Asks Trump’s Forgiveness For ‘Small Parts’ Comment (Video)

We all know that Donald Trump does not apologize. When Carson jumped onto Trump’s bandwagon, The Donald did not apologize for any of the hateful things that he said about the good doctor. Not for comparing him to a child molester, not for saying he was “pathological,” not for mocking his story about trying to stab his friend.

But when the shoe is on the other foot, it seems that people feel a need to ask for The Donald’s forgiveness.

This is certainly true for Marco Rubio, who appears to be coming out of his post-campaign sulk. The Huffington Post reported that Rubio spoke publicly on CNN about his desire to seek Trump’s forgiveness. He said that he did this not for Trump, but for himself.

“I want my kids to be proud of me, and I don’t think it reflected well on my faith. That’s not who I am.”

He also made it clear that he had apologized to Trump himself directly and privately.

“I actually told Donald — one of the debates, I forget which one — I apologized to him for that. I said, ‘You know, I’m sorry that I said that. It’s not who I am and I shouldn’t have done it.’ I didn’t say it in front of the cameras, I didn’t want any political benefit.”

I find myself wondering if Rubio is looking for some political benefit now, though. Rubio told CNN that he is willing to fully support Trump for president, and that he “wants to be helpful.” He has even offered to speak on Trump’s behalf at the upcoming GOP Convention.

Rubio’s name has been bandied about as a possible Vice Presidential candidate. Asked if he’d consider a position within the Trump administration, he didn’t rule out the possibility. I wonder if he’s hoping that by sucking up now, he may be rewarded later.

I am left with the image of handsome young Marco, on bended knee, kissing the ring of the Godfather and asking for forgiveness. All in hopes of getting back into the good graces of the man with all the power, just in case some of that power might spill over onto him.

See for yourself just how earnest and humble Rubio appears to be in the video.
