MUST-SEE TV: Sanders, Trump To Debate Prior To California Primary (Video)

If you were wondering what a general election matchup between Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump would look like, you’ll get a taste of it prior to the June 7 California primary.

Last night on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Trump was asked if he would be willing to debate Sanders. His reply:

“If he paid a sum toward charity I would love to do that.”

Trump added that such a debate “would have such high ratings.”

Not long after the segment aired on Kimmel’s late-night show, this tweet was posted from Sanders account:

And just like that, we got what may wind up being the most highly anticipated debate of the 2016 campaign.

There is little love lost between the two men. In recent days, Trump has been referring to Sanders as “crazy Bernie” on the stump, and Sanders has said on numerous occasions that he will do whatever is necessary to guarantee Trump is not elected President.

Trump, of course, has already won the GOP nomination, but a strong performance by Sanders prior to the June 7 Golden State primary might provide the momentum he needs to win the lion’s share of the state’s 475 delegates. It might also give him a powerful argument that he is the strongest Democrat to face Trump in November.

No matter how the debate goes, one thing seems certain: Millions of Americans will tune in to watch a debate between Sanders and Trump. It’s a safe bet that Hillary Clinton and many in the Stop Trump movement will be glued to their televisions on that evening.

Also, a resounding loss by Trump in a debate with Sanders could prove to the American public just how clueless and unprepared the Donald is for the most important job in the world.
