Trump’s Idea Of GOP Unity: Trashes Republican Governor Of New Mexico (Video)

For all practical purposes, Donald Trump is now the head of the Republican Party. As the nominee, he will be calling most of the shots from this point forward. And considering how he acted during a campaign rally in New Mexico yesterday, that could cause a lot of sleepless nights and heartburn for party leaders.

The buzzword in the GOP now that Trump is the last man standing for their party is unity. The party must now unify, you hear party elders and apologists saying. But when you trash the GOP governor of the state you’re visiting, does that sound unifying in the least?

Trump had this to say yesterday about New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez:

“Since 2000, the number of people on food stamps in New Mexico has tripled. We have to get your governor to get going, she’s gotta do a better job. Your governor has got to do a better job. She’s not doing the job. Hey, maybe I’ll run for governor of New Mexico, I’ll get this place going!

Then Trump started in on Martinez for allowing Syrian refugees to be resettled in the state. Granted, Trump said, governors don’t really have a choice in the matter, but he contradicted himself two seconds later by declaring:

“They say governors have no choice, if I’m governor, I have a choice, believe me.”

What?! How do they have no choice, but you would, Donald? Oh, let me guess: You think you’re above the law of the land and can just ignore the United States Constitution, which says such matters are the decision of the President. Has this jerkweed even read the Constitution? More frightening, has he read it and decided he doesn’t have to abide by it?

Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to this country. We need to be sure and vote in November to guarantee this man never gets any closer to the White House than watching it on his television.
