Marines Point Out The Obvious – Trump Is Not Qualified To Be Commander-In-Chief

Donald Trump is just so proud of how much money has says he has raised for our veterans.

Back in January, Trump famously skipped one of the Republican debates because he didn’t dare face Megyn Kelly again. Instead, in an effort to keep the public eye on himself, he decided to hold a rally for veterans. The event was a fundraiser for wounded veterans, and included many GOP bigwigs as well as advocates for those who have served.  Trump bragged shortly afterward about how much money he had raised.

Yay, him.

But recent reports about the actual funds raised as well as disbursed show that Trump’s figures are misleading.  In fact, only $2.9 million has been sent to 27 veterans’ groups.

So where is the rest of the money?

Alexander McCoy would like to know. The Marine vet helped to organize a protest outside of Trump Tower in NY. A feature article on Addicting Info reports that a group of angry veterans marched in front of the Trump property holding signs saying “Trump Didn’t Serve” and “Vets vs. Hate.”

The veterans were not only protesting the dishonesty of Trump’s donation claims, they were also protesting against his candidacy for President. Speaking about the likely GOP nominee, McCoy said that Trump:

“Has not shown any honor in his actions or his policies. He would make a reckless and dangerous commander-in-chief, and as Americans we would be fundamentally less safe with Donald Trump as president.”

Army veteran Perry O’Brien said that a significant chunk of the money that was supposedly collected has either disappeared or never existed at all.  Unlike Trump, O’Brien served for 3 years in Afghanistan. His resentment is understandable.

If Donald Trump wants to become President of the United States, it might be a good idea for him to accomplish a few things. He should actually donate $6 million to veterans. And he should learn not to lie.

I’m not going to hold my breath.
