Bernie Sanders Ready To Fight At The Democratic National Convention (VIDEO)

On Monday, millennial favorite Bernie Sanders discussed the encroaching Democratic National Convention taking place in Philadelphia and what he anticipates from the public. The presidential hopeful foreshadowed future chaos at the convention because “Democracy is messy.”

I wholeheartedly agree. Without debate, there is no possibility for change.

In addition, Sanders talked about his visions for the future, as well as what he believes his supporters are striving to achieve before the election in November. The Vermont senator highlighted in his interview with the Associated Press that his fans prioritize working families and their standing in society, as well as those in poverty, struggling to make ends meet.

“I think if they make the right choice and open the doors to working class people and young people and create the kind of dynamism that the Democratic party needs, it’s going to be messy,” Sanders said. “Democracy is not always nice and quiet and gentle but that is where the Democratic party should go.”

Apparently, the Democratic candidate’s remarks raised some eyebrows because people interpreted his “messy” comment as a hint to his supporters to be violent at the convention, which is far from the truth.

“The media often takes words out of context,” Sanders explained. “The context of that was that democracy is messy. That people will have vigorous debate on the issues. That’s what democracy is about.”

In fact, Sanders specifically told AP in his interview that he will “condemn any and all forms of violence” at the political event.

Jeff Weaver, Sanders’ campaign manager, added to the conversation by clarifying that the presidential hopeful’s use of the word “messy” was not a reference to aggression, but rather a reference to votes on the floor of the Wells Fargo Center.

“[Sanders] intends to press his case for a progressive agenda within the Democratic Party, press his case for electoral reform bringing many more into the Democratic Party, [which] makes the Democratic Party stronger and there’s a process for doing that at the convention,” Weaver said.

After watching Sanders throughout his campaign, do people really think that he is going to promote a gruesome agenda at the Democratic National Convention? I think what Sanders said makes complete sense. He has fought for change this entire time and the fight will not be over any time soon. Sanders has his sights set on reform, and whatever happens at the Democratic National Convention will be sure to strengthen his message that he will bring us a future to believe in.
