Police in New Jersey caught a career criminal on Staten Island while he was wheeling his wife’s dead body via dolly. Anthony Lopez, 31, was caught at 7 a.m. last week, reported the NY Post.
Instead of calling 911, the residents called a local off-duty detective to come check out the suspicious package that he was wheeling around. When Lopez saw the officer, he ditched the corpse of his 26-year-old wife in someone’s front yard and bolted.
The neighbor whose yard the body was dropped at said:
“I was taking my nephew out to catch the school bus, and I saw her. She was dead — strangled and hit upside the head. She was topless but had jeans on.”
Lopez is a member of the “Bloods” gang and has been arrested 52 times on various charges including domestic violence.
The body has been identified as Obiamaka Aduba, Lopez’s 26-year-old wife. Lopez confessed to his brother that he had killed his wife. She was strangled and hit upside the head.
Rhonda Coleman, who owns the house where the body was dumped at said:
“This is my home. This is crazy. My plans for the day were ruined.”
I guess her daily plans were more important than finding a killer. She was not allowed to leave the crime scene for a few hours.
The Bloods are a gang founded in California in 1972. The African-American gang formed to protect themselves from the “Crips” that had been around much longer. The rivalry between them is still active today. Wondering what a gang is? Here is a definition from a Stanford class page:
