You Won’t Believe What Trump Just Called Elizabeth Warren (TWEETS)

You won’t believe this. Or, maybe, with the state of American politics the way they are, you won’t have any problem believing it.

Donald Trump has gotten into a Twitter war with Elizabeth Warren. That’s not surprising, since he gets into Twitter wars with everybody. A limit of 140 characters seems to fit Trump’s mental abilities rather well, so it makes sense that that is his preferred medium for making his thoughts known.

The “phony Native American heritage” statement is a reference to a controversy in Warren’s early career, in which she is said to have claimed Native heritage. Apparently that is the sound bite Donnie-boy has hung onto, since her reputation is overwhelmingly positive. And it speaks to her rising profile that she is now seen as a threat.

The “woman card” again, Donald? Yawn.

New York Times writer Maureen Dowd interviewed Trump about his recent ridiculousness. And she wasn’t disappointed. When Dowd asked Trump about his Twitter battles with Senator Warren, Trump responded,

“You mean Pocahontas?”

Very nice, Donald. You have once again proven your lack of sensitivity to (or even basic awareness of) an ethnic group. It is not okay to make fun of someone by referring to them as a stereotypical version of a people group.

But making racially insensitive jokes and statements is par for the course for Mr Trump, who counts many Ku Klux Klan members as his prime supporters. Scroll through the responses to any of his tweets, and you’ll see all sorts of racism and sexism— you’ll want to wash your eyes out after.

Trump has not spoken out against the racism or abuse perpetuated by his followers, so he is implicitly supporting it.

And when someone says something he doesn’t like, he calls them names. Often those people are women. Watch below to see women reading some of Trump’s most sexist comments.
