Watch Donald Trump’s ’Publicist’ Call Stephen Colbert With This Important Message

Last week, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was interrupted by a phone call from Donald Trump’s “publicist” in regards to the allegations of Trump himself having posed as one.

Stephen Colbert had just recapped the story originally presented by The Washington Post:

“Back in the early 90’s, Trump would call news organizations, pretending to be his own publicist… to brag about himself.”

To Colbert, this was extremely surprising:

“It’s hard to believe there was a time when Donald Trump was ashamed to say how tremendous he is.”

According to Washington Post, there were a couple of “publicists” who called to inform about Trump’s tremendous financial successes, how many women he was dating and which female celebrities wanted to date him.

The “publicists” were named John Miller and John Barron, and the celebrity women they called about were mega star Madonna and top model Carla Bruni. But the story had a twist, as Colbert explained:

“In the 1990’s, Trump admitted under oath, that he was John Miller, and that the whole thing was a joke ’gone awry’. So, a lot like his presidential campaign.”

But Colbert showed a recent clip of Trump denying and pretense of being John Miller. And this is when the phone rang…

“Hello Stephen, this is Donald Trump’s new PR spokesman John-ald… uh… Melania-vitz.[…] I mean Barron McJohnington.”

Then followed the important message, to set things straight once and for all:

“Listen here, dummy, I was watching your show and don’t like the lies you’ve been telling about Donald Trump, who’s my incredibly successful boss and definitely a different guy than me.”

One can only conclude that apart from the very real threat of Donald Trump as president, we can all thank him for political satire and comedy in general reaching new and unprecedented heights.
