Trump Wants To Protect Guns That No One Is Taking Away (VIDEO)

Well, you’ve got to hand it to Donald Trump, he certainly has the GOP hot button phrases down. First, it was building a wall to keep the Mexicans out, next was banning Muslims, and now he’s going to protect your guns.

Except no one is trying to take them away.

Not according to Trump, though. According to the Donald, Hillary Clinton is going to abolish the 2nd Amendment and take away everyone’s guns (this sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Isn’t this the same thing the GOP said about President Obama?). Trump made this wild and completely untrue claim at one of his infamous rallies in Washington state. Clinton supports universal background checks for gun purchases and stricter controls on certain firearms, but has never claimed she was for taking away anyone’s 2nd amendment rights.

Don’t worry, brave patriots, Donald Trump is going to save you!

“We’re going to cherish the Second Amendment, we’re going to take care of the Second Amendment.”

That’s a bit of a change from Trump’s previous stance on guns. In the 1990s, he supported a ban on assault weapons, and argued in favor of longer waiting periods for consumers seeking to purchase guns.

But, as always, Trump never lets the truth get in the way of what his supporters want to hear.

This is just one of a number of comments that Trump has used to attack Clinton during the past few days, and they just get more and more outlandish. Clinton’s spokesman tweeted in response to the claim that:

This is just one of the many lies Trump has told during his presidential campaign. His blatant disregard for the truth and inability to check his own ego has only fed the media circus that his campaign has become. He seems to be operating under the terrifying assumption that if you tell the same lie ten times, it will become the truth.

It has carried him this far. And it will carry him to the general election this November.

That may be the scariest fact of them all.
