Man Brings Gun To Interview, Guess What Happens Next!

Being invested in toting along your favorite firearm isn’t exactly a tradition in the interview process. However, a Florida man thought it pertinent to strap a .22 Magnum to his hip before an interview at Oscar Patterson Elementary School. Subsequently, he shot himself (surprise!) during the interview.

This is a portion of the report from WJHG:

Panama City Police are investigating what they called an accidental shooting on Oscar Patterson Elementary School property Friday afternoon. The man reportedly shot himself in the knee with a .22 Magnum. He went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police told NewsChannel 7/Local 18 they do not believe the man was on school grounds with the intent to hurt anyone. Right now, no charges have been filed.

This happens to be just another incident in the long line of firearms accidents we experience in this country. It is very easy to laugh at someone who would do such a thing, but the reality is if accidental fire had taken place at the wrong time, we could be talking about deceased child or other innocent bystander. Allowing guns on elementary school grounds is an extremely dangerous game.

No charges against the man were filed and he did not appear to have brought the weapon with any violent intent. Still, an interview at an elementary school would appear towards the bottom of the list of appropriate locations for firearm carry.

The NRA has long beaten the drum of the importance of the second amendment rights of American citizens. It is very obviously a position that is motivated by business and money, shrouded in the facade of second amendment rights. Regardless of the consequences, this is the type of behavior they endorse.

Wayne LaPierre and his constituents have invested in a dangerous machine. One that we can now see is endangering our children through routine action. Yes, this man is a fool and should be mocked. However, the laughter is muted when considering the possibilities.

A conversation on the extent the NRA is willing to go:
