WATCH: Transgender Woman Catches Subway Attacker In Viral Video

A transgender woman in New York City apparently made one of her fellow passengers feel not “comfortable” by riding the subway while reading a book.

“‘I just sat down and started reading my book but then this woman across me just randomly started yelling profanities at me and saying racist things,” Love said. “I tried to just ignore it as I usually do, but this woman kept going for over five minutes. She was getting louder and more aggressive, so I started recording because I was scared.'”

Pearl Love says that she would like to “raise awareness about the daily violence trans people face” by sharing video of a bigoted bully who verbally and physically attacked her on the subway. The bully can be heard swearing and berating the woman endlessly while being filmed.

“‘You garbage, m*ther f**ker. You a transvestite, filming me, m*ther f**ker? Suck my d*ck, you ain’t about sh*t. You sittin’ over here, recording me while you do what? S*ckin’ my d*ck?'”

The bully claimed to be worried about her victim’s appropriateness while never considering that her actions were disturbing to everyone and not only highly inappropriate, but violent and bigoted.

‘”How we supposed to act with you? What should we do about you? ‘Cause this sh*t right here ain’t appropriate for my child.'”

The women was was so offended by the sight of a transgender woman reading never seemed to consider that any children present on that subway may not have even noticed or been bothered by the transgender woman, but they surely noticed and were more likely uncomfortable at the sight of a grown woman cursing, threatening, and berating another human being.

“‘I don’t give a f*ck. I don’t give a f*ck. I’ll fight you right now, I don’t even feel comfortable…'”

With those words, alleges Love, the attacker then jumped across the subway aisle and attacked her. After knocking the cell phone out of Love’s hand, which is where the video shuts off, the woman “chased” Love around the subway car, dumped Love’s bag out onto the floor of the car, and struck the woman. One man, according to Love, assisted her in gathering her belongings, but no one else stood up to the bully during the long and frightening attack.

The video has, according to reports at the time of this writing, nearly 200,000 views on Facebook and YouTube and views are growing quickly. Pearl Love says she shared the video to raise awareness.

“‘This kind of thing actually happens to me all the time to the point where I start thinking OK, this is normal, it’s OK,’ Love said. ‘But then I was talking to my friends and fellow sisters about it, and I realized this is not right. I want to help educate people and have people understand what we go through every day as trans people.'”
