WHAT?! Donald Trump Says Rafael Cruz Helped Kill JFK (VIDEO)

Rafael Cruz is becoming Trump’s favorite whipping boy.

The National Enquirer ran a story last week claiming that the mystery man in a photo with Lee Harvey Oswald, the man behind the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Jr., has been identified as Rafael Cruz, the father of GOP presidential candidate, Ted Cruz.

Who would take such a thing seriously? Who would, without solid evidence or any other more credible source, use this as a campaign talking point against their rival? A National Enquirer story, really? Who would tout their stories on the national campaign trail in pursuit of the highest office in the land?

Donald Trump would, of course.

The National Enquirer never even went so far as to say Rafael Cruz was in any way responsible for the death of JFK. They simply reprinted a photo of Lee Harvey Oswald standing next to a man who is, like Oswald, handing out pro-Fidel Castro leaflets. The elder Cruz admits having fought for Castro, although the New York Times questions most of his accounts.

No, the National Enquirer wasn’t willing to make such a connection. Only Donald Trump is nasty enough for that.

In an interview with Fox News, the GOP frontrunner said:

“‘His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald’s being, you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous,’ Trump said. ‘Nobody even brings it up. They don’t even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it. What was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the shooting?'”

Ted Cruz, for his part, denies the story and calls it “tabloid trash.” He called Trump much worse.

“‘This man is a pathological liar, he doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies … in a pattern that is straight out of a psychology text book, he accuses everyone of lying…Donald is a bully … bullies don’t come from strength they come from weakness.'”
