BREAKING: Ted Cruz Suspends Presidential Campaign

Following a crushing loss in the Indiana Primary, GOP presidential candidate and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has suspended his joke of a presidential campaign.

As reported by NBC, via the New York Times:

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is ending his presidential campaign, according to his campaign manager, bowing to the reality that his crushing loss in Indiana all but assured the nomination of Donald J. Trump.

The story was first reported by the Texas Tribune, who cited Cruz campaign manager Jeff Roe. CNN corroborated the Tribune story.

Just last week, Cruz formed an alliance with opponent John Kasich to stop front-runner Donald Trump. From our earlier article:

In this deal, Ted Cruz will focus on Indiana while Kasich will concentrate on Oregon and New Mexico. Indiana has 30 delegates up for grabs, while Oregon and New Mexico each have 28 delegates allocated proportionally. Cruz’s campaign manager, Jeff Roe, said that a Trump nomination would be “a sure disaster,” and added that:

“To ensure that we nominate a Republican who can unify the Republican Party and win in November, our campaign will focus its time and resources in Indiana and in turn clear the path for Gov. Kasich to compete in Oregon and New Mexico.”

But Indiana wasn’t having it. They wanted nothing to do with Ted Cruz. His pandering to Indiana basketball fans was an epic fail.

I wanted nothing more than to see Ted Cruz fail in his life’s dream of being President of the United States. As his dream fails, mine is fulfilled.
