Based On Latest NBC Polling Numbers, Trump Is Toast In November

No matter where he is or what the subject is, whenever someone brings up the name of Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump starts into his usual patter about how he will beat her badly come November. He’s even begun calling her “Crooked Hillary.” But based on the newest polling from NBC, it looks like Trump will now have to wear the moniker of “Dense Donald.”

Yesterday on “Meet the Press,” Chuck Todd presented a segment in which he said Trump just loves to claim that he will put longtime Democratic states “in play” if he is the GOP nominee. But that isn’t what the numbers show.

Republicans were already facing one hell of a steep climb thanks to the changing demographics of the American electorate. More Hispanics will vote in November than at any time in American history, and it’s unlikely they will cast their ballots for a man who has called Mexicans drug dealers and rapists and sworn to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump also has an unfavorability rating of 70 percent among women voters, who are the majority of the electorate. And it is highly doubtful African-Americans will support Trump to any great extent.

But NBC shows that when you factor in the states that have voted for either party on a consistent basis over the last four election cycles, the GOP gets buried, with 243 electoral votes for Clinton and 180 for Trump. It only takes 270 electoral votes to win the White House, so Clinton’s 243 is a substantial lead when you consider that none of the so-called “swing states” are being contested.

Here’s a very sobering fact for Republicans: Even if If Trump won Ohio, Virginia, and Florida, he would still lose the election.

The GOP also faces the very real possibility that Trump would be a drag on downticket races, thereby turning the Senate back to Democratic control and also eating away at the majority the GOP currently has in the House.

So, Donald, while you may talk a good game, the numbers don’t lie, and it sure would be fun to watch you go down in flames and lose by the greatest margin in American history. Then we can call you by the name we know you to be: the Biggest Loser Of All Time.
