Bob Knight, former Indiana University head basketball coach who recently endorsed Donald Trump, has seemed to have lost his mind over a potential Trump nomination. In his initial statements at the Indiana State Fairgrounds he showed a propensity for using hyperbole to describe his choice for president:
“There has never been a more honest politician than Donald Trump.” – Bob Knight
It doesn’t take much research to understand how asinine this statement truly is. However, on Friday Knight decided to take his exaggerations a step further. This is what he had to say when he and Trump joined everyone’s favorite cable news channel program, Fox & Friends:
Again I say, Indiana, you can, in this week, you can make a decision that will be something that will go right along with our founding fathers and George Washington. What you do here with Donald Trump.
Discussing Trump in the same context with the founding fathers is flat out silly. It represents a delusional perspective on a man who has done nothing but separate his supporters from everybody else within and outside the United States border. They have literally divided themselves from the rest of the world, which makes this Knight quote all the more baffling:
Plus the fact that Mr. Trump has a tremendous following and a tremendous respect worldwide. This isn’t just a man who’s respected in Indiana or California or Florida or the United States. Donald Trump has done an awful lot of things for people all over the world.
It is no secret that Trump’s image in other countries is shocking. Britain even went as far to discuss banning the politician in parliament.
Fox & Friends seems like an appropriate platform for this dynamic duo to take the stage. Overall, it is apparent Fox is a cable news channel experienced in the art of obnoxious statements. Knight’s comparison of Washington and Trump is just another in a long line from a program that facilitates such nonsense.
