Julia Roberts: ’I Don’t Really Need People, But People Need Me’ (VIDEO)

Stunning footages of clouds, mountains and water introduces Conservation International’s short film about our environment, with Julia Roberts’ voice greeting the viewers as Mother Nature herself:

“Some call me nature, others Mother Nature.”

The film is part of a “Nature is Speaking” series of short films, where celebrity actors such as Robert Redford, Lupita Nyong’o and Penelope Cruz lend their voices on behalf of trees, water, flowers and other parts of nature, to bring attention to their particular needs.

As Julia Roberts’ Mother Nature introduces herself:

“I’ve been here for over four billion years, 22.500 times longer than you. I don’t really need people, but people need me.”

The aim is to make us understand how much we need nature, before it’s too late:

“When I thrive, you thrive. When I falter, you falter. Or worse.”

The purpose of the films is for Conservation International to raise awareness about the environment, and finance programs around the world through donations. More than 80% goes toward their vital conservation projects.

Listening to Mother Nature might make you consider getting involved:

“How you choose to live each day, wether you regard or disregard me, doesn’t really matter to me. One way or the other, your actions will determine your fate, not mine.”
