Tweets About Prince’s Death: The Good And The Bad (Language Warning: NSFW)

It was announced this morning that Prince has died at his home in Minnesota. Many are mourning the loss of this very talented artist. Naturally, people are taking to Twitter to talk about it. Some tweets are very kind. But, there are some right-wing nut jobs saying all kinds of racist and homophobic crap about him. His memory deserves better. Allow me to point out some of the worst ones for us to angrily rant about:

Apparently the presidential candidates are hiding clean water. 20,000 kids die per day from water? You are not making any sense there, moron! This idiot is somehow making Prince’s death about clean water:

If you don’t know who he was, why are you tweeting about it:

Let’s just mashup ALL of the news stories for no reason! The person in black face is horribly offensive. They seem to be calling Prince, Tubman, and Chyna “faggot pawns.” Not sure how that works…

Not surprised by the swastikas…

This idiot is also tweeting racist things. Why even bother if you didn’t know of him or like him?

Now that we got the bad ones out of the way, how about a few good ones?

Mick Jagger expresses his shock and sympathy in this four-part tweet.

Alyssa Milano remembers him fondly:

Prince attended a party on Saturday. People were expressing concern because he had been sick, and he said:

“Wait a few days before you waste any prayers.”

Prince was a Jehovah’s Witness. He did not smoke or drink and lived a very healthy life. He lived a very private life. He would never allow reporters to record any interviews with him. He just expressed himself with his art and music. He will be remembered as an influential figure in music. We will always remember his music and his amazing performances.
