Outdoor Urinal Exposes Private Man Parts To Public Scrutiny

Last week, the Chinese Christian Union sued the city of San Francisco over an outdoor urinal in the city’s iconic Dolores Park. Pacific Justice Institute, described as an LGBT hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, is helping the CCU file the suit.

The urinal, technically a pissoir ( pronounced piss-WAH, and yes, that is the REAL name!), was built earlier in the year to reduce public urination in bushes and against walls around the park.

“One of the top priorities was to expand restroom capacity in the park so that people will stop urinating on peoples houses and to make it easier for people to go to the bathroom,” says City Supervisor Scott Weiner.

The suit alleges that the pissoir is unsanitary and discriminates against women and the disabled.

In a delightfully snarky press release issued in response to the lawsuit, City Attorney Dennis Herrera pointed out that the park, located in the historically gay Castro neighborhood, is rated number  one by Yelp for nude sunbathing.

“For years, the popular 16-acre destination has been well-known for its vibrant counter culture, immodest sunbathers, pot brownie vendors, spectacular city views, and famously irreverent “Hunky Jesus” contest, which is sponsored annually by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.”

The city has vowed to mount a vigorous defense.
