Everyone can relate to having their emotions fluctuate due to a good piece of music. Some of us tear up when we hear a love song. Or get ready to scream and headbang for a metal track. But rarely do we see someone so overcome by the power of music that they feel compelled to vandalize someone’s home. Yet that is exactly what a local man did in Largo, Florida.
Police responded to a call about a man smashing a mailbox and found William Thomas trespassing and vigorously destroying the property. When questioned about it, he gave a reason that the officers were not prepared for.
Why, you ask.
According to Thomas, he had listened to too much music and masturbated too much, which had given him the urge to go out and destroy things.
By the time police arrived, they discovered Thomas shirtless and covered in dirt. He had flattened a trailer tire and absolutely destroyed the home’s mailbox, real estate sign, garden ornament, and one of the windows of the house. In addition, he also broke into a boat and caused a ruckus there as well. All total, he caused just over two thousand dollars in damages.
It is unclear why Thomas chose this particular property, which was over six miles away from his own home. Quite a walk, even when you’re consumed by the destructive urges of music and masturbation.
Police arrested Thomas and charged with him criminal mischief. According to the police report, Thomas did not appear to be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol.
